MOST POPULAR PRODUCT TYPES ON THE MARKET TODAY FOR RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL ROOFS

COMPOSITION ASPHALT SHINGLES

Composition asphalt shingles are the most common roofing material mainly due to affordability. There are many types and styles to choose from, including wood-shake look, slate look, and impact-resistant shingles.

PROS: Affordability and  lightweight.

CONS: Less hail-resistant than other materials; shorter lifespan equates to more landfill.

CLAY TILE

Clay Tile is one of the oldest, most beautiful roofing materials still available. There are many clay tile roofs in the Denver area that continue to perform well over 100 years after they were installed, many original to the home's construction.

Few companies possess the knowledge, skills, and craftsmanship necessary to install, service, or repair a clay tile roof. Clay tile is prestigious and costly, but there are options that may be within in your budget.

METAL ROOFING

Metal Roofing is one of the most varied and customizable options. From corrugated steel panels to custom fabricated copper shingles, the price can range widely. The most common type installed today is standing-seam.

PROS: Aesthetics; functionality; life expectancy

CONS: Cosmetic damage caused by hail; price

Stone Coated Steel

A stone-coated steel roof is a roofing system that combines the strength and durability of steel with the aesthetic appeal and weather resistance of stone.

The roofing panels are made of steel that is coated with a layer of stone granules, giving it the appearance of traditional roofing materials like asphalt shingles, clay tiles, or slate, but with superior performance and longevity.

TPO

A TPO (Thermoplastic Olefin) roof is a single-ply roofing membrane that has become increasingly popular in the commercial and residential roofing industry due to its many benefits.

It's important to note that the performance and durability of a TPO roof depend on the quality of the installation, so it's crucial to hire an experienced roofing contractor to ensure a properly installed system.

Modified Bitumen

Modified bitumen is a roofing system that has been used on low-slope roofs for more than 100 years. It is made of asphalt combined with polymerized rubber or plastic, then reinforced with fiberglass to create a rugged-yet-flexible waterproof membrane.

Modified bitumen roofing is primarily used on flat or low-slope commercial roofs. Depending on the type and material, these membranes may be installed as part of a two-layer system or as part of a multi-ply system.
